Niko Krivanek is a displaced photographer making work about loss and family in a current climate focused on it. Krivanek grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where the roads are a grid extending from the temple. Moving to Rhode Island to earn his BFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design, Krivanek is now adapting to a senior year without a thesis exhibition or a commencement. This ending to his college career seems fitting as his whole life seems governed by unexpected circumstance. Through photography, Krivanek is able to speak clearly and bridge miles.
